Let me just start by saying that that I love this place. I've only been there twice, but it's really put itself on the map for me as a great local place to go for Thai. Yep, you heard me, Thai. I'm as skeptical as the next person on these fusion restaurants where half the menu is an afterthought, but I really don't find that to be the case with Pho Tai. I presume that this is meant to be a primarily Vietnamese restaurant considering the business fliers in the front entrance. That said, I've really been struggling to find a good Thai place near my house. Madison Heights is a veritable mecca of good Vietnamese food, so I feel what really sets it apart from the rest is just how good their Thai is. Pho Tai really hits the mark there. I've had the drunken noodle so far, twice in two days because it just tickles me that much. Their ingredients are *incredibly* fresh. Their basil is bright and fragrant, their broccoli is crisp, flavorful, and green, and the lime slices that come with their noodles are amazingly juicy. There was zero disappointment there. Their wide rice noodles are cooked perfectly as well, not mushy or chewy but with just the right texture. The only drawback for me is the meat. I've tried both the beef and the chicken and I find their meat to be a little dry and stringy. No matter to me though, I'll just get all broccoli next time and feel a little bit healthier about my meal. Portions are generous, their sauces are delicious and addictive. The only thing I'd warn about besides the meat being a little sub-par is that they seem to have yet to work out their spice levels. I can handle a small amount of heat, not much at all. The first time I ordered, I got mild and it was perfect. Good kick on my heat scale, builds steadily with each bite, not at all overwhelming. I got mild again the second day and it about burned through my mouth. My boyfriend had a similar problem where he ordered medium plus the first day to some regret, then dropped down to medium the next day only to find it virtually the same. All in all, the Thai food here is more than worth it. I haven't had any of their Vietnamese here, but I intend to because it's very reasonably priced and with how fresh their produce has been thus far, I have high hopes for it. They've been pretty slow since their grand opening, so I hope you guys will give it a chance! I'm worried about them staying open with the slow trickle of business I see going in there, and I feel like the Madison Heights area will have lost something pretty special if they close up shop. One last note-- They're closed on Mondays, so don't drop by like we did just to be met with bitter disappointment. :')

I've been coming to Pho Tai for awhile and just realized I haven't left a review! The owner I've known from the other place he opened over on Gratiot and 10 mile, Blue Star and the staff have also followed him here. Everyone is pretty friendly and I see a majority of the clientele interestingly are Hmong. The food here is pretty spot on; I never am disappointed when I order different things. I have yet to try the Thai food but one day, maybe ;-) I usually go with my staples of Pho Dac Biet, Com Suon, Fresh Rolls, Spring Rolls, or Bun Bo Hue. Also I love the bubble smoothies and shakes. Pho Dac Biet: I can never go wrong with it. I can eat this breakfast, lunch, and dinner (and yes, I actually have ^_^). The broth is clear with notes of anise, cinnamon, ginger, and beef. The rice noodles are soft, yet chewy. And oh how I love the different types of meat in this dish. You get your fill of tripe, tendon, brisket, eye of round, and meatballs. I love adding a squeeze of lime, slice of jalapeno, handful of bean sprouts, Thai basil, and a few squirts of hoisin and Sriracha to my bowl. Com Suon: I eat this when I really am craving a simple meat and rice dish, which this is. It consists of white rice, a grilled pork chop, lettuce, cucumber, a small dish of fish sauce for pouring/dipping, and an over easy egg on top of the meat. Also, they give you a small bowl of soup to eat on the side. The pork is always perfectly grilled and juicy with plenty of lemongrass, oyster sauce, and fish sauce marinated into it. Fresh rolls/spring rolls: These are great appetizers or you can order two or more plates as a whole meal. The fresh rolls are always soft and filled with veggies, herbs, shrimp, and pork. I don't really care for the hoisin/peanut sauce that comes with it but my daughter loves it. The spring rolls are nice and crispy and filled with meat and clear noodles but be careful and let it cool down before you eat it. Bun Bo Hue: Lately due to the cold weather, I've been ordering this quite often. It's velvety, fragrant, spicy, and red. I love different textures in my food so the pork blood cakes, sliced pig feet, and brisket are right up my alley. By the end of the meal, this soup has me blowing my nose and gulping my water but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Another UYE with the Lunch Guys! Went for Vietnamese this time. Jeff H. recommended one of the pork dishes. I choose #14 the bun mi noodles with pork and egg roll. Good portions, cheap price, very tasty! Recommend and someplace to repeat.

My favorite thai place in the area! Almost afraid to try any other thai place because I may be disappointed it doesn't live up to Pho Tai standards. Everything I've purchased off the menu is superb, especially the triple delight and the pad pak. Crab n cream cheese wontons are a must add - so unhealthily amazing!

I'll get straight to the point. This place is not a good spot for Vietnamese food, but a great place for thai food. Pho tai is better than Thai Star (For thai food) Que Huong is better than Pho Tai (For Viet food) But a good place to go if you're with a party and craving thai while everyone else is craving Viet, or vise versa

Previous review: Loved loved loved the Thai food here but couldn't bring myself to order the Vietnamese quite yet. Well... I have finally gotten around to trying the Vietnamese food here a few times. All I can say is that I don't know where the folks are coming from who say the Vietnamese food here isn't any good. I am by no means a pro when it comes to Viet cuisine, but I know what I like and I like it here. The pork chop with broken rice (Com Suon) here is stunning. The best I have had by far. The pork itself is impeccable. Juicy, flavorful, and carmelized to perfection. The rice and egg and veggies and fish sauce and broth all do a fine job of tying it together. But the pork is the star of the dish, as it should be. My other two "go-to" Vietnamese places in the area are Que Huong and Thuy Trang. The pork chop from Pho Tai is clearly dominant over the others. That being said, the Pho at Pho Tai is probably the least impressive of the three. The broth lacks the flavor compared to the competition (and is therefore probably healthier, but whatever, I don't care about that). Pho is kind of like pizza in that even when it isn't the best it is still really good, and the Pho at Pho Tai is no exception. It's perfectly serviceable, when I eat it I am happy. But the Com Suon can't be beat. Eat it up. Yum. EDIT 1/17/14: Reading back over this I realized I wrote the review before I ever tried their Bun dishes. There is some steep competition but I believe their Bun Thit Nuong (#14) is my favorite Bun dish in the area. I really look for FRESHness in this dish and Pho Tai does it best in that regard. Their Viet food in general is really just so so good. My favorite in the area overall. EDIT 8/28/14: Ironically I've always found the Pho at Pho Tai to be the weak link. No longer. After avoiding it for many months I just randomly ordered a bowl today and it was one of the very best I've had. Period. Not sure what they changed but it is much better now. Given the fact they've corrected the Pho situation and have also recently added beer/wine/liquor to the menu, I am changing my score from 4 stars to 5 stars. 4 star Thai, 5 star Vietnamese, rounded up to 5 stars total due to honestly serving up the very best Viet food in an area chock full of competition.

food is consistent and great. Music/tv needs to be turned down or off, not as enjoyable with jerry springer like show blaring in the background. One waitress server very pleasant and friendly, one older one seemed less attentive and friendly.

Not horrible, but have had way better. Pad Tai was dry and a tad creamy if thats even possible. But it was. Not what Ive had at other around the world. One small "slice" of lime, tablespoon of sprouts and tons of noodles. So, we ate it..but like I said, Ive had alot better;.

I found Vietnamese and Thai dishes, as well as Taiwanese Bubble Tea on the menu. The bubble tea is actually very good; I was even able to get a brain freeze!! The noodles are tasty but I found that they occupied a small portion of the large pho bowls and it really can be a meal by itself. They provide a small dish of bean sprouts, parsley, and jalapenos so you can customize your pho. I found that some of the beef wasn't too chewable with a lot of gristle, so I recommend the meatballs or chicken.

I use to work here when they were still located on Gratiot and the name was actually Blue Star at the time. I still go here whenever I am in the area. It is by far the best Vietnamese Restaurant I've had since I moved to Michigan and I've tried them all. This says a lot since I am a very picky eater. Also, because I grew up in Philadelphia where there is tons of Vietnamese Restaurants around and my father cooked it at home all the time. I truly love Vietnamese food :D I've known the owners for years now and am still on great terms with them. They are always friendly and know customers by their names. I can tell you for a fact that your food is always handled with care. I know the place may seem as if it isn't clean, but there is no doubt that the kitchen is clean as well as the food. I also know the person who prepares and cooks the Thai dishes for them. He is very experienced in making Thai dishes for many years now and is definitely a great cook! The soup bowls known as Phõ is what the hype is usually about. I'm not surprised since the owners spend the entire night and day making and preparing it. The broth is exquisite and always tasty. You know the broth is good when you try it without adding any fish sauce to it for an extra saltier taste :) also, if you are new to Phõ, ask one of the servers to show you how to put the sauces on the side in your bowl. If you don't know what you're doing, it may not taste very good at all. Eventually when you get the hang of it, you can start tweaking the flavor to your liking. With me, I usually get the dish with only the meat and onions in it rather than the number 29 that has everything. The eye round steaks are freshly cut and put in only when it's time to be served. It is usually raw until the broth is poured in the bowl. Overall, it's all about a person's taste in preference. If you honestly don't know what you're doing or ordering, try asking for help. Vietnamese food is usually always a lighter meal than what most people are use to. You can tell that Thai food is a much heavier meal than Vietnamese food. Thai food will usually fill your stomach while with Vietnamese food, you can go for seconds or even thirds without realizing how much you're eating. Remember, it's all about one's preference and taste.

DH and I do not work far apart, and this is our meeting spot for lunch on a week day. I have been addicted to getting this dish (I can't remember the name though) with rice noodles, bean sprouts, cucumbers, this mouthwatering pork, and two crispy spring rolls in it. It comes with fish sauce on the side and you can add as much as you like. This is a great dish to get in the summer as it is not oily, but nice and light. DH typically gets the XL bowl of pho and it fills him to the brim. Often times at lunch the hour is just not enough, but the service here is ridiculously quick, our two dishes came to our table in less than 10 minutes. Our waitress was quick and efficient, and there were probably 6 or 7 tables other than us at 12:30. The only thing that I am not a huge fan of is the condition of the restaurant. the floor is really dirty and the tile is clearly not even close to it's original color. It really just seems like it could use a good deep cleaning, however the food is good so I have to keep coming back!

My only regret about this place is that it took us so long to finally try it -- it's only 1/2 mile from our house and for some reason we just never made it over there. I'm so glad we tried it today though -- the food is excellent. We've been looking for a good Thai and/or Vietnamese restaurant since we moved back to this area several years ago, and this is the best one we've found yet. The food was simply prepared, fresh and very flavorful. We tried 2 Thai dishes: the Basil Fried Rice and Pad Thai, and one Vietnamese dish, 'Chicken Stir Fried w/ lemongrass, Onion and green peppers', plus an order of Shrimp Fresh Rolls. Everything was very good, the portions are generous and prices very reasonable. Even though it was quite busy, the service was fast and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We're so happy that we found such a great Thai/Vietnamese restaurant so close to our home! (BTW, I also noticed a big sign there announcing 'We now have Beer!')

I will not be back. Really awful Viet food. My cooking was even better. Fresh roll had tiny shrimps in it and all lettuce. I don't remember any noodles. Chicken wings were passable but I ordered it for the kids. Nice that they have kids menu items. Ordered a plain pho no meat for the kids. I'm glad... I did not order pho. Thank goodness because it was not good at all. Broth was lacking. I ordered the bun bo hue... And the look of it... Wasn't typical red spicy broth but the flavor was good. Meat was horribly hard and tough though. This place won't survive serving Vietnamese food like this. I haven't tried any of their Thai food but I think I'm too scared to ever go back. There are better Vietnamese restaurants around the area. No need to head here.

This was a first experience for me in trying a vietnamese dish. I went with #13 bun tom thit nuong( rice vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork and shrimp with vegetables). First came a small bowl, like a soup cup, that the helpful waitress told me was a sauce for the dish(turned out to be nuoc Cham, a sauce that tastes of citrus(lime?) a little sweet and a little salty(fish sauce). There are also several kinds of chili sauces including Sriracha as we'll as hoisin sauce already on the table to use. Then the main bowl arrived. With the exception of the marinated grilled pork and the four medium to large shrimp everything else is served cold. About 1/2 the bowl is fresh raw veggies/herbs including shredded lettuce, carrot, daikon, bean sprouts, julienned cucumber, and cilantro leaves. The other half of the bowl is cold rice noodles topped with the pork and shrimp and some chopped peanuts and scallions on top of that. Everything looks colorful, fresh and healthful . You add sauce(s), mix and enjoy! I added hoisin, sriracha, and the sauce she brought earlier and it was delicious! At least 1/2 of diners around me seemed like they were having pho and all seemed to be enjoying their dishes.

Best pattani I have ever had! Absolutely delicious! Watch out for the medium though - it can get you sometimes. I'm hooked on this place. I just wish it would move a little farther west!

We drove passed by this place and saw a grand opening sign. We thought we give it a try and see if the food is good or not. I ordered the tenderloin pork with egg and rice. The pork is really tender, mouth watery. Just one bite, the meat melted in my mouth and the seasoning is just delicious. My friend ordered the house special Pho. You can choose Large, XL, or XXL. My friend ordered the large size. OH man, it was just the right size. Wayyy Enough serving for one person, I wonder how big are the other two sizes. She really enjoyed the pho. The house special comes with all the style of meats- Rare sliced Steak, Tripe, Well done Flank, Brisket, Soft-Tendon, and Beef Meatballs Noodle Soup. She said the soup is very tasty and just about right. We also ordered the Vietnamese Spring rolls- they were also good, although not the best one I had. The service is good, they would asked how you doing and see if we need more water. Overall, the food is decent and the service is above average. One suggestion- they need a hostess to greet the guests and take them to a table. Maybe they were busy that day, probably under staffed. Next time, I will try the thai food selections. I would definitely recommend this place! P.S. I will take some pictures next time I go:)

Best Pho in the area...heck, best Vietnamese in the area! Everything is always super fresh, and the staff is always pleasant. We tried their thai food too, and it's good, but their Vietnamese cuisine is definitely why we go there at least once a week. Yum! I have yet to try their Boba tea, because I always end up going to QQ Bakery for that, but I'm sure that is delicious too!

Been to Pho Tai 3 or 4 times now. I tired the Pho and I really wasn't all that impressed. I don't think it was a matter of it being bad though, just not my thing. But what I really stopped by for was the Thai food. I've ordered the basics so far here, Curry Fried Rice and Pah Thai and what I was surprised by was not that it was good, but that it was good and cheap. The fried rice was actually exceptional and my bill at this restaurant is maybe half what I pay at Bangkok Cuisine. This location is one of those bad locations for restaurants as there have been 3 restaurants go out of business there over the last few years, but I think Pho Tai has a good chance of sticking it out, even in a less than optimal location. I counted and there are 3 Vietnamese restaurants within 1 mile of my house, and so far I drive past 3 other restaurants to get to this one. That says it all.

My co-workers and I enjoy lunch here when we're having a pho craving. The basic beef pho is quite good and is a good starting point for those Anglos who want to give Vietnamese cuisine a try. My personal favorite is the Thai basil noodles (drunken noodle) which is about the best I've had anywhere. There is one caveat, however, in that nearly everything on the menu is prepared with MSG. I brought a friend who is MSG sensitive and we had to go elsewhere as there wasn't a "no MSG" option on all but one menu item.

  • Christina C.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars!! It's everything I look for in a restaurant. Cheap, great service, and even greater food!! Don't be fooled by the name of the restaurant, they do above and beyond on other menu items along with their pho tai. I would strongly recommend the pad thai and pineapple fried rice. ** beware of their spice levels!!! Even for someone like me who loves spiciness, it's hot!!

Yesssss. Although there are many opportunities to eat Thai and Vietnamese under the same roof in Madison Heights, Pho Tai is exceptionally good. The bùn was was some of the best I've had. I got the grilled pork & spring roll option. The pork was delicious, tender, and super flavorful, the spring roll was a little boring as far as spring rolls go (just cabbage inside) but crispy deep fried morsels are pretty much always delicious, so I'm not complaining. The noodles are what sets this bùn apart from that of other restaurants; sometimes rice noodles have a horrible smell that doesn't go away with boiling and it can really detract from an otherwise good meal. These were the cleanest tasting noodles I've ever had (much better than when I cook them at home!). Tasty noodles coupled with savory protein, crispy fried bits, a generous portion of shredded veggies and herbs, and a good sauce makes for the perfect summer meal. They have beer and wine available, too. My boyfriend and I plan to go back soon and split one bùn (it is HUGE. Did I mention it is only $7?) and some cheap lagers with lime. Perfection. We also ordered pad Thai with tofu. It was totally solid, maybe not the best I've ever had in my life, but definitely very good. We ordered it mild so we could doctor it up with the chili garlic paste on the table. That turned out to be a great idea. Eating the whole thing, though, was not such a great idea. I'm still full the next day! One minor downside to Pho Tai is that it is pretty dirty. Tables were sticky, dust was thick on the windowsill, carpet looked frightening. Hopefully the kitchen is kept up a bit better than the dining room, but whatever, the food is still delicious. I feel like a restaurant can get away with being a little gnarly if the prices are super cheap. I'm looking forward to trying their pho when the weather cools down a bit. I noticed that they have a pho kids meal on the menu, awww. They also have many intriguing flavors of bubble tea. I'll be back again soon!

I met up with fellow Yelpers Jason A. and Jeff H. awhile back for lunch. I mentioned in a thread that I had never had Pho and was a little intimidated to go to Viet places by myself and try to navigate the menu.... Jeff was nice enough to invite me to join him, Jason mentioned that he wanted to go as well and the rest was history. I arrived before those guys and ordered a Heineken. The waitress was cool and we were chatting it up about how I didn't look my age, she carded me, lol... Side note: Now Jason and I have had our share of plenty of talk forum drama and bickering in the past so I was a little apprehensive on whether or not it was a good idea to lunch together but after a quick private message we both agreed that the forum stuff was all jokes and nothing was taken to heart and there were no hard feelings etc... So anyways we all met up and ordered lunch. I had some sort of Pho with meatballs in it. I didn't know what to expect to be honest. In my mind Pho was going to be like a big bowl of spicy Ramen noodles. The Pho came and it was good but not at all spicy. Jeff explained how to eat it and that I could dunk the meat in chili paste or fish sauce etc... I enjoyed it but their plates of food looked better to me. Jason had some sort of meat on noodles dish with a crispy spring roll on top and Jeff had a platter of pork chops with a fried egg and rice etc.... Hmm, I decided I wanted to try that next time, lol... My Pho was filling and affordable, I think it was $9 with a beer. It was a nice time and I enjoyed meeting both Jeff and Jason, we all even went out for frozen custard after.. I will be back to try more delicious Viet food in the future.

I was hesitant to try this place, but I have to say it's amazing. The food is great and the staff is so nice. For a while, my fiance and I were going here more than once a week...We were actually going there so often that one of the ladies memorized our orders. My favorite is the pepper steak, but my fiance gets the hottest crazy noodles. Both are delicious, I would give this place more stars if I could!

How long...I have searched for Pho in this area. I pretty much tried all of the pho in the area. Long story short, I'm from Little Saigon in California which is like the mecca of Vietnamese food in the United States, and I have been disappointed by all the Pho in this area, UNTIL I found Pho Tai. Their pho is both AFFORDABLE (unlike other places that are 10+ per bowl) and AUTHENTIC. I was quite skeptical since my prior experiences with half thai, half vietnamese places has not been so great, but I was delightfully surprised when I ate here. Another item I recommend here is the com suon which is pork chop with rice. Gosh it tastes like home. Haven't tried any of the Thai dishes, but after reading some of the reviews will definitely look into it! Lastly, even though they are quite understaffed when it is busy, they have GREAT service. Like I have never been to an asian place that has had good service because it is kind of in the culture really. I am quite used to having no service besides having my food brought to me, but the servers here actually are attentive and check up on me. What a gem. Happy eats!

I love the pho here - much better than any of the other pho restaurants around. I also love their steamed dumplings. I keep meaning to try the Thai menu, but I always end up ordering the pho because it's so tasty. The serving size is very generous, and the pho comes with a mound of veggies/herbs to add to the soup that is much larger than most restaurants that I've been to. Friendly staff as well and very good prices. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The pho here is fast, big and tasty! Everytime I happen to be here the place fills up and it's only lunch time at that! I always order the #21 pho and it never fails to deliver beefy goodness with razor thing steak and a whopping pile of noodles hidden just below the broth!

We have been looking for a Thai restaurant on this side of town for a while now and haven't found anything that was as good as our favorite East Side spot (Sy Thai in SCS). We finally tried Pho Tai this weekend and it was really delicious. I'm pretty bummed we haven't stopped in sooner, since we live just a few minutes away. It's in a weird little strip mall with businesses that I have never been to, so it hasn't really been on my radar. We didn't try any of the Vietnamese dishes so I can't say anything on those, but the Thai we tried was really good. We ordered the egg rolls to start and split Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle, both medium-plus with chicken. It seems when you order medium it can be hit or miss at most places because sometimes it's bland and sometimes it's really spicy. I would rather it be spicy over bland, so we went with the medium-plus and I think it was a solid choice. The flavor of both dishes was really good. It was a really big amount of food. We ate until we were about to pop and still had enough left over for lunch the next day! Our waitress was friendly and attentive and the food came out quickly. The restaurant had probably 20 other customers at the time, of which we were the only people who weren't Asian. I don't mean to stereotype, but I feel like that is probably a good sign that the food is authentic! We will definitely be back again! We saw a sign on the door that said Mon-Fri they have entree and beer specials for $10. Maybe next time I will be brave enough to try Vietnamese food...

Rating: 2 Broth Taste: 3 Experience: 3 Cleanliness: 4 "All Pho is NOT created equal" I have been on a soupy adventure of that tasty hot Vietnamese soup called Pho for some time now, to just see if "All Pho is created equal", or not. "SLURP!" Equality is something that can't be generalized when considering this tasty soup at other Pho eateries. This was my first time eating at Pho Thai, and ONLY basing my review on the chicken Pho, for me it was just what the Chinese say..."mama hoo hoo"...just so-so. Here is where I draw the line in the sand... In sounding off to my soupy comrades for an ingredient role call: Noodles..."check!" Chicken..."check!" Broth...Broth?...Broth?!?!?!? (A-WALL) Yes...it was no where to be found. It even had a heavy "fish aroma" found in thai dishes. I understand that fish aromatics are used in making the broth...but come on man... For me however, I prefer that deep marrowy chicken broth, coupled with notes of green onion, mixed with what ever they do so original over there at that other place down the road on John R, Que Huong. If you are looking for a hot soup on a cold Day, this is your place. But if you are seeking the best pho in town...consider other pho soup houses that have that exact flavor you are looking for- you know the places that have Pho that makes you say "ohhh DamNNNN...now this is good Baby!" Because... ..."all Pho is definitely NOT created equal"...

Clean, friendly, great value, open relatively late... Just be aware that there is no full bar even though Yelp says there is. No beer and wine either. However, our server told us they are working on it. And the prices were such that we just got an extra couple apps and Thai teas in lieu of adult beverages. Pot stickers, papaya salad (a first for me, great summertime app) and pho were all well done. Would definitely return, booze or not.

Inexpensive, yet very big portions. A no frills place. Advertised special of the day was a bowl of pho and a beer for $9. Literally everyone else in the place appeared to be of Asian descent, if that sort of thing is a positive indicator for you. Wife had the curry noodles, which were good, but Medium here is hot everywhere else. I'm usually a medium-plus sort of guy and this place, but if we come back I'd order a mild-plus and hope for the best. The curry noodles came with a bowl of hot and sour soup, which was just middling. It was hot, but not very sour. Really more of a black pepper soup. I got the pho with beef round, flank, and tendon. It was quite good. Large bowl, as expected, served with mung beans, basil, and jalapeno. Three sorts of sriracha available at the table. The broth had a decent sheen of fat on the top and was fairly flavorful. I think I prefer the broth at Que Huong as it has a bit more of an umami thing going. This is a little more gingery, I think. Still, very good.

My go-to Vietnamese dish is Bún with chicken & spring rolls and this place is on point every time. Right or wrong, they provide a good amount of broth/sauce to pour over the dish. Just enough that it's not Pho-like to me. I also love that they have a mix of Thai food so you're not stuck with Vietnamese if that's not your thing. Efficient service and quick meal preparation is a plus.

Hands down the best Viet food in Detroit!! (And their Thai food is pretty good, too, but I rarely order it.) Things I've tried: - egg rolls: not greasy! And the contents are yummy, not that weird mushroom combo that some other places like to use - pho ga: not gross and oily like at the other places! Chicken texture was a little off, but I'm sure that's changed by now, as I ate this once, months ago. - pad see ew w/beef: generous portions, and it's tasty! - I forget the name, but I think its Tom yum soup (off their Thai menu): OMG so so good! - Thai fried rice w/chicken: again, huge portions. Their Thai portions are enough for my dinner...and my bf's lunch the next day. - bun thit nuong cha gio: I think this is #14, but it's one of my fave dishes..ever, and pho tai does it right!! The egg rolls are yummy and crispy, and the meat doesn't taste all weird and lemon grass-y like at all the other places in Detroit. Again, it's a huge portion that I can never seem to finish. My bf has also tried their pho tai and bun bo hue, and he enjoyed both as well. Other things worth noting: - you will not smell like pho for the next 24 hours after eating here...you know what I'm talking about. - staff is friendly! So nice! - call in/pick up orders usu take 10 mins - there's a small charge on credit cards if you don't meet their minimum charge, which you can easily do if you order a meal I come here weekly and have always left extremely satisfied!
